Q254210 - Cannot Use Net View \\Localhost Command
This article talks about a problem I was getting when I tried to connect to a one-to-one NATted box. Basically, because the IP address does not match what the server behind the NAT thinks its name is, SMB pukes. The solution was to make an entry in the HOSTS file for the address that I was connecting to, with the name that the target machine thought it was.
